KYL to hold children’s events
WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library Children’s Department will hold a variety of events in March.
Due to early outs on Tuesday and Thursday, and Spring Break on March 9 to 13, regular scheduled programs are modified.
Early Out Movies — Patrons ages 8 years through 12th grade are invited to relax and watch a movie at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday in the Teen Area. Tuesday’s movie will be “Elio” (1hour, 39 minutes) and Thursday’s movie is “The Fantastic 4 — First Steps” (1hour, 55 minutes). Bring a friend and popcorn will be provided.
Weekly Programs
LEGO Build (Children’s Department) — Each Monday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. throughout March there is the opportunity for kids to test their building skills. Each week will have a building theme or you can use your imagination for your creation. We have a variety of Legos, so the possibilities are endless. Bring a friend and get building.
Tales Around the Town — Kendall Young Library invites patrons to a Family Storytime from 5 to 6 p.m. each Monday. Each week in March will be held at Kendall Young Library with special activities and family experiences. March is full of excitement as we get messy with some projects. No registration required. Just follow the signs for the fun.

March 23 – Kendall Young Library (1201 Willson Ave.) — Truck and Tractor Painting
March 30 – McDonalds* (400 Fair Meadow Drive) — Storytime With Miss Doreen at 6 p.m.
*Friends of Kendall Young Library will be holding a fundraiser at McDonalds from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wild Things (TK-second) grade will meet on Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45 p.m. in March. This time will offer a variety of stories and activities each week. Join us for all the adventures.
Fuzzy Ducklings (Under 3 years) will meet from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays in March. This parent/child experience is fun for everyone.
Hungry Caterpillars (3/4 year Preschool) will meet from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursdays in March. This is a fun and interactive story time.
Tweens Time (third through fifth grades) will meet from 3:45-5:00 p.m. on Thursdays in March. They will explore crafts, STEM, cooking and so much more.
Friday Cookies, Scoops, & Books — Drop in at the Children’s Department between 3:30-4:30 p.m. on March 20 and 27 for an afternoon snack as you pick up some books for the weekend. This is a come-and-go event.
Drop-In Saturdays – Kids and families are invited to “Drop-In” to enjoy a time to get creative. Each Saturday in the Children’s Department there will be a come-and-go activity available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Scheduled events are: March 7, Lego; March 14, Magna Tiles; March 21, fuzzy baby animals; March 28, sticker fun.
