Tickets on sale Jan. 12 for ‘The Prince of Egypt’ at Iowa Central’s Decker Auditorium

Iowa Central Community College’s Center for Performing Arts announces that tickets for the stage musical “The Prince of Egypt” will go on sale Jan. 12. This epic production brings to life “The Bible story of Moses — reimagined for the stage,” featuring soaring music, stunning visuals and a timeless tale of faith and freedom.

Based on the acclaimed DreamWorks animated film released in 1998, “The Prince of Egypt” tells the extraordinary story of Moses — –from his life as an adopted Egyptian prince to his destiny as the leader who frees his people. The musical includes the iconic song “When You Believe,” which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and became a global anthem of hope and perseverance.

The show features professional special effects including flying actors, magic and a motorized stage. The college is working with Louisville-based special effects firm ZFX.

Director Sean Mulvihill shares: “At its heart, this story is about how the bonds of love are stronger than the chains of hierarchical systems, nations, or political parties. It’s a reminder that human connection, faith, and compassion can overcome even the greatest obstacles.”

Don’t miss this chance to experience one of the most inspiring stories ever told — live on stage. Gather your family and friends for an unforgettable evening of music and drama.
