KYL announces September adult library special programs
WEBSTER CITY – Kendall Young Library will be hosting a variety of special events to kick off Library Card Month and the beginning of fall programming.
Savor Iowa’s Culinary History — Author Darcy Maulsby and Potluck — Kendall Young Library patrons are invited to bring your favorite Iowa dish at 5:30 p.m. Monday and join us for a scrumptious potluck and program by author/storyteller, Darcy Maulsby. She returns to Kendall Young Library once again for a fun filled evening. Table service and drink will be provided and sign-up (call or stop-in) is suggested, but not required. All are welcome.
Flower Arranging with Tyler Burton — On Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m., we will be exploring the art of flower arranging Tyler Burton from Peacock House Flowers will be sharing some tips and tricks to a beautiful arrangement. Join us for a fun craft time. It is a free event and no sign-up is required.
Haunted Iowa — Join us for time to walk through the world of Haunted Iowa on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. We will explore Iowa ghost lore/legends/history, have some hands-on informational demonstrations of paranormal equipment, discuss the science and theories behind equipment and ghost hunting along with its history. This program also discusses the types of mediums and offers tarot readings in 10 minute sessions for $10. This program is free and no sign-up is required.
Senior Puzzle Competition (age 55+) — Register for a fun Senior (55+) Puzzle Competition at Kendall Young Library. This Tuesday, Sept. 16, competition is great for puzzlers that want a little “less” competition, but still love a challenge. Teams of four will compete to finish the puzzle first. Join us beginning at 10:30 a.m. to be the team to finish first. Call or register online. This event is free. Registration required.
