KYL July adult library programs announced
WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will be having adult programs throughout the month of July.
Adult Summer Reading Program –Adults are invited to join in a variety of “Level Up At Your Library” summer programs. There is an adult reading challenge, voting for a Mini Art Show, and a scavenger hunt throughout the library still available throughout July. Details and resources to participate are available at the adult checkout desk. All entries are due July 31.
Adult Daytime Book Club — Kendall Young Library invites you to join for the July Book Club discussion about “The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife,” by Anna Johnston. Books are available at the adult checkout if you are interested in participating. We will be meeting from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss. A book for the August Book Club will be announced and available at this time.
Adult Evening Book Club — Kendall Young Library invites you to join in the Adult Evening Book Club discussion on the book “Bright Young Women,” by Jessica Knoll. Books are available at Kendall Young Library. We will be meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday to discuss.
Adult Plant BINGO — Join us to test your luck with Adult Plant BINGO at Kendall Young Library. Patrons can win small plants from 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 15. This twist on traditional BINGO is free and brings fun prizes. Make plans to bring your friends.
Women’s Self-defense Workshop –Kendall Young Library in conjunction with the Webster City Police Department will be hosting a Women’s Self-Defense Workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. July 19. This event is open to ages 13 and above. This event is free and does not require registration.
Crochet Workshop — On July 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m, Kendall Young Library will be hosting a Crochet Workshop. This is a beginner level workshop, but all ages 16 and are invited to come. All supplies will be provided and there is no registration required.
Interactive Game Show Party — Get ready for fun, excitement, and friendly competition. You won’t just watch –you’ll be part of the live studio audience, cheering, laughing and competing in entertaining games. Everyone gets a chance to win. This fun program is presented by Happy Faces Entertainment (also presented Cleaver Class of 19-Deadly-2 as a program at KYL). Please join us from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on July 28 for lots of laughs, ages 13 and above.
SPICE Club — Kendall Young Library invites you to add some spice to your life with the KYL Spice of the Month Club. We will be featuring culinary paprika beginning Monday. Samples will be available throughout the month while supplies last. This is a fun way to explore different cultures and flavors. Each month there will be a featured herb or spice. A limited number of kits will be available each month with a small sample, information about the spice, and a couple recipes to try.
Coming in August — August will include our regular book clubs and crochet workshop with the addition of a Seniors Share day on August 26. Adult DIY on August 12 will have a special “State Fair” theme where patrons can create their own butter sculpture.
