The annual plant and garden sale sponsored by the Fort Dodge Federated Garden Club is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or sold out) Thursday at the Lion’s Den, 731 Exposition Drive. The sale will include annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and bulbs. The perennials will be freshly dug from members’ gardens, showing that they are plants that will overwinter in Iowa In addition, garden-related books, magazines, tools, garden art and garden-themed items, such as vases, decor, and puzzles, will be available.

The plant sale helps fund local activities and programs, such as the Webster County Fair, the Matt Cosgrove River’s Edge Discovery Center, the public library and flower shows. In addition, proceeds support the Greater Des Moines Botanical Center, the Iowa Arboretum, and horticulture and landscape design scholarships at Iowa State University.
