Conservation offers Island Hike Feb. 23

LEHIGH — Webster and Hamilton County Conservation Boards are holding an Island Hike at Brushy Creek State Recreation Area at 2 p.m. Feb. 23. Hikers should meet at the South Boat Ramp, 2745 Lakeview Drive. A short walk across the ice will land you at Taylor Island. Hike up and enjoy seldom seen views of the lake. If there is enough snow, snowshoes will be available or you may bring your own or you can just hike in warm winter boots. Ice safety and the history of the lake and island will be discussed. For more information, call 543-8298. If ice conditions are not suitable, an alternative hike will be offered.
