WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will be hosting a Families Reading Together: A Family Summer Reading Log through Aug. 31. Family reading is a wonderful way to help your children develop a love of reading and improve their reading comprehension over the summer. This program is sponsored by Dollar General Literacy Foundation.

Instructions:

1. Decide who will read to whom: parents to children, older siblings to younger ones, younger ones to older ones. Or, take turns with each page … make it fun!

2. Color or cross out a star on the reading log below for each 10 minutes you read together.

3. Bring your completed logs to Kendall Young Library by Aug. 31 for a chance to win a one-year Family Membership to the Science Center of Iowa OR a $100 gift card to Fort Frenzy and other prizes.

4. You are able to complete three reading logs. Each log is an entry to the drawing. Return reading logs to the children’s or adult checkout desk.
