Mother-Daughter May Day tea is May 1

The Mother-Daughter May Day tea will be from 2 to 4 p.m. May 1 at the Vincent House, 824 Third Ave. S. The day of refreshments and activities will celebrate Spring, as well as provide an activity to be shared as a family tradition.

Tea, punch, finger sandwiches and sweets will be served. Also, participants will make May baskets and fill them with goodies and be invited to dance around the May pole. People will also get a chance to have their pictures taken together wearing fun, frilly hats.

Admission is $10. Reservations are required due to limited seating and can be made by calling the YWCA at 573-3931, ext. 207. The event is organized by the Vincent House Events Committee with proceeds going toward the upkeep and maintenance for the historic mansion.

The Vincent House was built in 1872 and was bequeathed to the YWCA in 1969. Once a center of social scene in Fort Dodge in the late 1800s – early 1900s, the house is now available for rental for meetings, dinners, receptions, weddings, and other formal or casual get-togethers.
