Cheryl Smith

DUNCOMBE — Cheryl Smith, of Duncombe, will celebrate her 80th birthday on March 12.

Her family includes Michelle and Jim Granahan, of Tomah, Wisconsin; Meredith Mickelson, of Duncombe; Monique and Ryan Otterbeck, of Ankeny. She has seven grandchildren. Her husband Ward is deceased.

She was born March 12, 1944, to Hiram and Alice Snell. She graduated from University of Northern Iowa. She taught first grade at Hawley Elementary, as well as teaching at Fort Dodge Cooperative Preschool, Treasure Chest Preschool in Duncombe, and St Thomas Aquinas Preschool in Webster City. She ended her career teaching and caring in home for her great nieces.
