Their family includes Teresa Lahart, Chariton; Jason and Cherri McKenney, Somers; and Christopher and Brandi McKenney, Palm City, Florida. They have nine grandchildren. Their son-in-law Marty Lahart is deceased.

Denny McKenney and Judy Machovec were married in Fort Dodge at First United Methodist Church and made their home on the farm near Somers.
