Dean Bowden

WEBSTER CITY — Dean Bowden, of Webster City will celebrate his 85th birthday on Monday.

His family includes Jeff and Stefany Bowden, of Prescott, Arizona; and Janna and Darren Heater, of Indianola. He has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His wife, Adele, is deceased.

Bowden was born on Oct. 16, 1938. He grew up on a farm in Winthrop, the oldest of two brothers and one sister. He graduated from Iowa State University, served in the Army in Korea, and was president of Webster City Custom Meats for more than 40 years. He was married to Adele Gerstenberger for 59 years before her passing on April 22, 2023.
