Dennis and Mary Armstrong

ALGONA — Dennis and Mary Armstrong, of Algona, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 22 at the St. Cecelia presentation center 715 E. North St. Algona, Iowa.

Their family includes Joseph and Theresa Armstrong, of Sierra Madre, California; Colleen and Steven Fisher, Bellevue, Nebraska; Timothy Armstrong, of Des Moines; Thomas Armstrong and Carla Clark, of Norwalk; and Amy Armstrong, of Denton, Texas. They have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Their son, Ronald Armstrong, is deceased.

Dennis Armstrong and Mary Gilligan were married on July 21, 1958, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livermore.

They have lived in Algona since 1968. He served 30 years in the military, and also worked for 27 years at Geo. A. Hormel. After retiring Dennis worked part time for Hy-Vee for 16 years. She worked for 14 years at Seton preschool.
