Francis and Barbara Long celebrated 50 years of marriage on Friday.

Their family includes Christie and Ryan Willits, of Glenview, Illinois; Andy and Lindsey Long, of Boone; and Julie and Nick Nation, of Urbandale. They have 12 grandchildren.

They were married June 9, 1973, in Fort Dodge. They have enjoyed teaching and getting to know the many students and families during their years of teaching high school in the Fort Dodge schools.
