Marty and Ilene Smith, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.

Their family includes Angie and Tony Totten, Becca and Greg Bock, and Jodi Smith. They have nine grandchildren.

Ilene Franke and Marty Smith were married on Nov. 11, 1972, in Fremont, Nebraska. She was a registered nurse at Trinity Regional Medical Center for 40 years before retiring. He is a retired trucking executive and is the fire chief of the Otho Fire Department.
