POMEROY — Harold and Virginia Olson, of Pomeroy, celebrated their 65th anniversary on Nov. 10.

Their family includes Peggy and Dick Jones, of Blaine Minnesota; Debbie Olson, of Rockwell City; Jon and Rachel Olson, of rural Pomeroy; and Lisa and Gerhardt Gliege, of Bloomington, Minnesota. They have five grandchildren.

Virginia Leech and Harold Olson were married in 1957 in Sumner, after meeting at the Storm Lake Ballroom. She was a telephone operator in Waverly. He had recently returned from army service in Korea and was farming. Together, they farmed north of Pomeroy. They are life-long Pomeroy residents. In 2003, they moved into a new home in town after retirement. They enjoyed traveling, including internationally, for several years and continue to be actively involved in their community.
