Barbara O’Connor

Barbara O’Connor, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate her 90th birthday Tuesday.

Her family includes Becky and Brad Fidler, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; Mary Beth and Michael Frischmeyer, of Fort Dodge; and Bennett and Diane O’Connor, of Fort Dodge. She has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Bob O’Connor, is deceased.

O’Connor was born on June 14, 1932, in Cedar Rapids. She attended St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in Fort Dodge. O’Connor was the first school nurse at St. Edmond Catholic School, and she started in the nursing department at Iowa Central Community College in 1975, retiring in 2015.
