Ruth Reed

Ruth Reed, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate her 86th birthday on March 28.

Her family includes her husband, Dr. James Reed, and James E. Reed Jr. and Sarah E. Porche. She has one grandson. Her granddaughter, Emily Porche, is deceased.

She was born March 28, 1936, in Atlanta, Michigan. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1954 and from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in 1957.

She worked briefly at what is now UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center when she first moved to Fort Dodge. She has volunteered extensively with the Girl Scouts and Operation Christmas.
