Ruth Jacobson

HUMBOLDT — Ruth Jacobson, of Humboldt, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Tuesday.

Her family includes Kathy and Mike Christensen, of Ankeny; Jackie and Terry Binder, of Waco Texas; Jeff and Pam Jacobson, of Parkersburg; and Paul and Sheryl Jacobson, of Ottosen. She has 13 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Ralph Jacobson, died in May 2009.

Ruth Larson was born on Sept. 14, 1931. She and her husband farmed near Ottosen from 1950 to 1996, retiring to Humboldt. She worked as a nurse at the Humboldt County Hospital and for Head Start, and finally, as a public health nurse for Humboldt County.
