Lawrence and Lois Davis

GILMORE CITY — Lawrence and Lois Davis, of Gilmore City, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on June 10.

Their family includes Yvonne Uithoven, of Omaha, Nebraska; Sue and Bryan Hewett, of Fort Dodge; Sandy and Dutch Bottorff, of Vermillion, South Dakota; Bruce Davis, of Gilmore City; Glenn Davis and Tracy Phillips, of Gilmore City; and Paul and Erica Davis, of Ossian. They have 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lois Huston and Lawrence Davis were married on June 10, 1951, at the United Methodist Church in Gilmore City. They are members of the United Methodist Church in Rutland and the VFW in Dakota City. He is a World War II veteran and she is a retired VFW local and county auxiliary officer. They own and operate Davis Dairy, a century farm near Gilmore City, and have lived on the homestead for 70 years.
