Bobby Awe

Robert (Bobby) L. Awe, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate his 80th birthday on June 6.

Awe was born on June 6, 1941 at Primghar. He graduated from LuVerne High School and then moved to Fort Dodge where he managed an electronics store for 32 years before starting his own pest control company. He has been a traditional country music entertainer for 68 years, performing at dances, weddings, festivals and other special occasions in Iowa and several surrounding states. He performed at Frontier Days for 41 years, hosted and performed on a local television show and has been on R.F.D.T.V. nationwide. He also was inducted into the Iowa Country Music Hall of Fame in 2003.
