June Smith

June Smith, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate her 80th birthday on Tuesday.

Her family includes Mike and Maria Smith, of Fort Dodge; Jim Smith, of Fort Dodge; Brenda and Kent Strutzenberg, of Manson; and Jackie Smith, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She has 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her husband Mike is deceased.

June Cassem was born on March 16, 1941, on a farm near Swea City. She married Michael Smith on Oct. 10, 1959. They were married for almost 47 years. She retired from Nestle-Purina in 2003 after working there for more than 27 years.
