Shirley Olson

EAGLE GROVE — Shirley Hayek Olson, of Eagle Grove, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Thursday.

Her family includes Barbara Olson, of Helena, Montana; Eldean and CherylAnn Olson, of Eagle Grove; Lori Olson, of Eagle Grove; and Andrea Scherting, of Helena, Montana. She has five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was born on Feb. 25, 1931, in Star Prairie, Wisconsin. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School with the Class of 1949. She married Elmer Olson in Callender on June 3, 1951. She taught school for many years prior to her retirement in the late 1990s.
