Dick Tighe

WEBSTER CITY — Dick Tighe, of Webster City, will celebrate his 90th birthday on Sunday.

His family includes Merydith and John Thomas, of Camanche; Paula and Dick Eddy, of DeForest, Wisconsin; Connie and Bob Humble, of Estherville; Richand Leslie Tighe, of Tullahoma, Tennessee; Jim and Sherry Tighe, of Spencer; and Maggie and Marc Shonka, of Des Moines. He has 36 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

Tighe was born Oct. 25, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a retired football coach and teacher of 63 years. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954. He married his first wife, Margot Daly, in Sioux City on April 27, 1953. She passed away in 2012.

He married Wyn Ann Allen, of Eagle Grove, on Dec. 13, 2014.
