Karsten Bryhne, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate his 85th birthday on Oct. 13.

His family includes Kurt and Carol Bryhne, Keith and Ann Bryhne, Sonja and Tim, and Sharyl and Jorge. He has two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bryhne was born on Oct. 13, 1935, in Aalesund, Norway. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He was mostly self-employed in construction.
