Garret and Leola Weiland, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on May 19.

Their family includes Cynthia and Tony Salvatore, of Fort Dodge; and Scott and Karen Weiland, of Cincinnati, Ohio. They have two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

They were married on May 19, 1950, at Aplington Presbyterian Church in Aplington. They established their home in Fort Dodge in 1957. He retired from the Iowa State Patrol after serving 28 years. She retired from Fort Dodge Community schools after teaching 33 years.
