Alvin Lindquist

ALBERT CITY — Alvin Lindquist, of Albert City, will celebrate his 100th birthday on Dec. 11.

His family includes Craig Lindquist and Linda Knight, of California; and daughter-in-law Anita Lindquist, of Fort Dodge. He has a granddaughter and four great-grandsons. His wife Bernice and son Clyde are deceased.

Alvin “Stub” Lindquist was born Dec. 11, 1919. He grew up and attended school in Alta. Following his senior year, he began his active duty in the U.S. Navy. He is a Pearl Harbor survivor, having served on the USS Tennessee on Dec.7, 1941. After serving eight years in the Navy, he farmed in Pocahontas County until his retirement.
