Ruth A. Hanson

Ruth A. Hanson, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Eagle Grove, will celebrate her 100th birthday on Friday.

Her family includes John and Bonnie Hanson of Greenwood, Indiana; Bill Hanson, of Fort Dodge; Mary and Jim Christianson, of Spirit Lake; and Ron and Sally Hanson of Carmel, Indiana. She has 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Her husband, Bob Hanson, and daughter-in-law, Linda Hanson, are deceased.

Ruth Brisbin was born in Eagle Grove on Dec. 27, 1919. After graduation, she attended cosmetology school in Fort Dodge, then worked in Fort Dodge. She married Robert G. Hanson in January 1942, and they raised their family on the Hanson family farm. After her husband died, she remained on the farm, until moving into a Rotary townhome in 1999. She moved to Friendship Haven in June 2018.
