Irene Whitehill

Irene Whitehill, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Friday.

Her family includes Wally and Vivian Whitehill, Ruth and Dennis Zemke, James and Donna Whitehill, Ivan and Eileen Whitehill, Daisy and Dana Lantz, and Debbie and Dan Karmer, all of Fort Dodge. She has 41 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Gerald, is deceased.

Irene Bollerman was born on Nov. 29, 1929, in Harlan and was raised in California. She married Gerald Whitehill in 1948. She worked at Friendship Haven for 34 years, was a Camp Fire volunteer for 41 years, volunteers at Deercreek, has been a member of Epworth United Methodist Church for 62 years and has been a lay servant for 18 years.
