Leo Mallinger

CLARE — Leo Mallinger, of Clare, will celebrate his 85th birthday today.

His family includes his wife Joan, Mary Romoser, of Iowa; Marsha Condon, of Iowa; Dan Mallinger, of Illinois; Dave Mallinger, of Minnesota; Michelle Miller, of Texas; Maree Schroder, of Nebraska; Megan Scott, of Indiana; and Doug Mallinger, of Kentucky. He has 19 grandchildren.

Mallinger was born March 3, 1934, in Duncombe and graduated from Barnum High School in 1952. He joined the U.S. Army in 1955 and served until 1956. When he was discharged from the service, he met Joan and was married on June 3, 1959. They established their home in Fort Dodge and later moved in Clare in 1980.
