Julia Rieken

DAYTON — Julia Rieken, of Dayton, will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 10 at the United Methodist Church, Dayton. Snow date is Feb. 17.

Her family includes Brinda Griggs, of Stratford; Lou and Dick Brown, of Sheffield; Loretta and Harlan Swanson, of Dayton; Bruce and Kim Rieken, of Harcourt; and Rodney and Audrey Rieken, of Ankeny. She has 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Edwin Rieken, and son-in-law, David Griggs, are deceased.

She was born Feb. 8, 1929. She married Edwin Rieken on Oct. 3, 1948. He passed away in 2010.
