LJ Hartley

LJ Hartley, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate his 80th birthday on Jan. 3.

His family includes wife Leanne; Larry and Ann Hartley, of Charlotte, North Carolina; Bruce and Tracy Hartley, of Fort Dodge; and Beth and Kevin Wickwire, of Dayton. He has eight grandchildren.

After graduating from Laurens High School, he served in the Navy for three years. He then studied for the ministry in the United Methodist Church. He and his wife served churches in nine different communities before retiring in 2002 and moving to Fort Dodge.

He was born Jan. 3, 1939, in Webster City.
