Marilyn and Francis “Sonny”Carlson

GOWRIE — Francis “Sonny” and Marilyn Carlson will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday.

Their family includes Randy Carlson, of Walker, Minnesota, and Lori and Larry Rankin, of Pleasantville. They have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Their daughter, Barbara, is deceased.

Marilyn Mann and Francis Carlson Jr. were married on Nov. 8, 1953, at the Harcourt Methodist Church. They lived in or around Harcourt most of their married life until moving to Gowrie last year. They did winter in Phoenix for 21 years.
