Gail and Mavis Van Alstine, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday.

Their famiy includes Bruce and Judy Van Alstine, of Thor; Linda White, of Gowrie; Clark and Jennifer Van Alstine, of Belton, Missouri; and Carla and Rob Schreier, of Fort Dodge. They have 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. They were foster parents to 30 babies.

Mavis Sherman and Gail Van Alstine were married Sept. 6, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge. He is president of family-owned corporations. She is retired from St. Paul Lutheran Mission House after 30 years.
