She was the case management supervisor for the Central Point of Coordination for Webster County until she retired.

He worked in the newspaper business in Indianola; Canon City, Colorado; and Huron, South Dakota, before returning home to Fort Dodge as marketing director for The Messenger. He also served three terms in the Iowa Senate, 2003 to 2015.
