Judith Kay Vakoc, age 80, of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, with her daughters by her side. She suffered unexpected complications following a heart procedure. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South – Fort Dodge. Steven J. “Crooked” Gregory, 71 of Rutland, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Steven was born July 25, 1954 in Fort Dodge, the son of Jim and Barb (Johnson) Gregory. He was raised in Rutland and attended Humboldt Schools, graduating from Humboldt High School in 1972. He then attended Scott Community College in the Quad Cities, graduating in 1974 with a degree in motorcycle mechanics. He returned to Rutland where he farmed on the family farm.
