To the editor: The City Council is proposing to reconfigure North 15th Street from the Village Inn intersection to the Kwik Star intersection ( 20th Avenue North to Second Avenue North). The North 15th Street corridor is a main traffic corridor for Fort Dodge and the second busiest road in our community. The council wants to reduce this busy corridor from four lanes to three lanes. When it comes to supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities, the Fort Dodge community is often a medalist. Citizens and local law enforcement officers come together annually to raise money for Special Olympics Iowa at an event called Cop on a Rooftop. It is an event held statewide. One teacher in particular I would like to honor is Mrs. Nelda Larsen from Harvest Baptist School. She was my third and fourth grade teacher and a lady who will forever stay in my memory. Folks in Los Angeles may think that Dodger Stadium is in their town. And yes, there is a structure out there with that name. But obviously, the real Dodger Stadium is right here in Fort Dodge.
