FD man pleads guilty to federal firearms offense A Fort Dodge man has pleaded guilty to a federal gun charge, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of iowa. Daniel Smith, 38, pleaded guilty to illegal possession of firearms. The plea was made Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Sioux City, prosecutors said. Smith had been previously convicted in state court of unauthorized possession of offensive weapons, and dominion/control of a firearm by a felon, prosecutors reported.
