Holy Trinity spaghetti dinner is Sunday

Holy Trinity Parish spaghetti dinner is 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Corpus Christi Center, 403 N. Eighth St. The meal includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Carryout is available, beverage not included. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 5 to 11 and free for children ages 4 and under.

St. Francis Catholic Church annual turkey dinner is Oct. 26

ROCKWELL CITY — St. Francis Catholic Church, 744 Main St., Rockwell City, is holding its annual turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the church. The dinner will be dine in or drive through for carryout orders. Tickets are $15 per person.

Local woman wins big lottery prize

BADGER — A Webster County woman has won a $100,000 lottery prize. Deana Gudmonson, of Badger, won the seventh top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s X the Money scratch game. She purchased her winning ticket at Kwik Star, 150 E. U.S. Highway 18 in Garner and claimed her prize Oct. 9.

Kossuth burn ban lfited

A ban on open burning in Kossuth County was lifted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the county Sheriff’s Office. It was imposed about a month ago in response to hot, dry and windy weather.

Woman enters plea deal in arson case

A Fort Dodge woman has pleaded guilty to setting an apartment on fire in January, according to court records. Megan S. Freeman, 34, pleaded guilty to second degree arson, those records indicate. She is accused of setting a fire in a second story apartment at 211 N. 12th St on the afternoon of Jan. 26. That apartment sustained serious fire damage, while the rest of the second floor sustained heat and smoke damage. No one was injured. The building was later torn down and the lot where it stood remains empty. Freeman was arrested by Fort Dodge police on Jan. 27 and was charged with ...
