Construction on the new Arby's restaurant in Fort Dodge is anticipated to begin in the next few weeks, according to Abbey Ramsey, director of marketing for DRM Inc., an Arby's franchisee.
DRM announced its plans to locate in Fort Dodge in May.
Arby's, which features premium deli-inspired sandwiches, should open sometime in November, Ramsey reported.
It will be located at the corner of 29th Street and Fifth Avenue South.
That building formerly housed Fazoli's.
Between 40 and 50 people will be employed there.
Signature Arby's sandwiches include the smokehouse brisket, loaded Italian, and gyro. Other classic favorites like the roast beef, beef 'n cheddar, Jamocha shake, and curly fries, will be on the menu.
A drive-through and catering service will be offered.
An Arby's was once located in Fort Dodge under a different franchise owner.
DRM has operated Arby's restaurants since 1977. It is the second-largest Arby's franchisee.
Fort Dodge will become the 23rd Arby's in Iowa that is operated by DRM.
More than 3,200 Arby's are located in the United States.
