The Casey's General Store on the northwest side of Fort Dodge was robbed early Monday, and a $500 reward is being offered in the case.
The robbery at the store, located at 1230 Third Ave. N.W., was reported at 5:15 a.m.
Cory Husske, assistant Fort Dodge police chief, said a masked man entered the store and handed a note to the cashier, demanding money.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ran out of the store and headed westbound.
Fort Dodge police and the Webster County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene and began searching the area for the suspect, but they were unable to locate him.
While the Police Department continues to investigate the robbery, Husske said Webster County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward for specific information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
He described the suspect as a tall white male with short brown hair. In addition to a dark cloth mask, the suspect was wearing a dark sweatshirt, gray or dark pants and black shoes or boots.
