A second public forum to discuss proposed changes to the elementary school boundaries in the Fort Dodge Community School District was held at the Fort Dodge Middle School Wednesday night.
Two options were presented by RSP and Associates, the firm hired by the district to reconfigure the boundaries.
About 30 people attended.
Anticipated growth within the district and the opening of the new Duncombe Elementary School next fall are two reasons the district wants to address its boundaries, according to Superintendent Doug Van Zyl.
After the first public forum, RSP took the feedback received and created a second option.
One notable difference between the two options is the area north of 10th Avenue North, north of Dodger Stadium.
In option one, students in that area would attend Cooper Elementary School.
In option two, the students would remain at Duncombe Elementary School.
Van Zyl said the district will look to finalize the boundary changes by February.
A copy of the map of the proposed boundaries has not been released to the public but is available for viewing at the Central Administration Building, 104 S. 17th St.
