UPDATE: Daniel Moss, 41, of Fort Dodge, spent about 40 minutes fleeing from pursuing officers after police in Webster City attempted to pull him over, according to Roger Porter, assistant Fort Dodge police chief.

Moss was wanted by the United States Marshals Service for escape out of Sioux City, according to Sgt. Wes Niles, of the Iowa State Patrol.

Fort Dodge Police also briefly detained Bobbi Barden, who was a passenger in Moss’ car.

Porter said she was released and will not face any charges.

The chase began shortly before noon when Webster City Police tried to pull over the vehicle, said Porter.

The suspect led officers from multiple agencies through Hamilton, Wright and Webster counties. Spike strips were deployed and the car was driving on two rims at one point in the pursuit.

The chase went through Webster County and into Fort Dodge.

It ended shortly before 12:30 p.m. at 406 S. 17th St. with the suspect being taken into custody.

No one was hurt, Porter said.

A female passenger was also detained by police.
