A few of the many charitable holiday happenings in Fort Dodge

Ponderosa Towing, Fort Dodge, is giving away a 2002 Dodge Intrepid to a family or individual in need, free of charge. The vehicle may be viewed at 1615 Ave. O, Fort Dodge. Send a private Facebook message including a brief description of why the nominee deserves to win the vehicle. Messages need to be sent by Dec. 20. A winner will be selected on Dec. 23.

Menards and Fareway are collecting toys for Toys for Tots through Dec. 24th

Wal-Mart is collecting gifts for children in need. There is a Salvation Army donation box loacated at the front of the FD store.

Dollar Tree also has a collection box for chilrens items at the Fort Dodge store.

This holiday season McDonald’s locations across central Iowa will allow customers to take an ornament from The Giving Tree and return with items needed for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Des Moines. Gifts can be dropped off at your local McDonald’s location. Those donating are encouraged to share a photo of their gifts on social media with the hashtags #IowaGivingTree and #ForRMHC. Items will be accepted through Christmas Day.
