Four area champs at MNW’s Wood Invite

MANSON — Four area wrestlers were crowned champions at the Doug Wood Manson Northwest Webster Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Tatum Hanson of the host Cougars defeated Kolin Folsom of South Central Calhoun in the 120-pound title round. Mason Knapp, a freshman from West Bend-Mallard, claimed gold with a victory over MNW’s Keaton Whitrock.

St. Edmond sophomore Sam Myer reached the finals at 138, where East Sac County junior Charlie Veit emerged victorious. Brock Nattress captured the 145-pound crown.

In addition to Myer, Whitrock and Folsom, Nano Guillen of St. Edmond (160), Ethan Egli (132), Ian Kohnen (170) and Cooper Harman (182) of Manson Northwest Webster, South Central Calhoun’s Riley Timmerman (220), and Chandler Lahr of East Sac County (145) were silver medalists.

The Titans were third with 119 points, finishing just ahead of the host Cougars (117.5). Woodbury Central (213) was the team champ, followed by Ogden (132.5).

East Sac County (101.5) took sixth, and the Gaels (100) were seventh. The Wolverines (96) were ninth.

Ronnie Orres went 3-1 at 126 and placed third for St. Edmond. Thomas Knobbe (2-1 at 113) was also third, as was Adam Walker at 195.

Zach Rossmanith was fifth at 170 for the Gaels.

Levi Evanoski took third for South Central Calhoun at 182, as did teammate Khyean Hawkins (285).

Ben Massner was third for WB-M at 170.
