More postseason honors have come in for Fort Dodge and St. Edmond softball.

Jalen Adams, Tory Bennett and Mariah Myers from the Class 5A state runner-up Dodgers were selected to the all-district team by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

For the Gaels, Gracie Harvey and Kaili Henning each made the 1A team.

A host of area players were also selected including Webster City’s Delainey Bargfrede and Kelly Stoakes, Jordyn Rowley of Southeast Valley, Lillian Etherington from Algona, Emma Auten of Emmetsburg, North Union’s Emily Meyer, Cassie Beadle and Samantha Nielsen, Abbie Capesius from Bishop Garrigan and Newell-Fonda’s Kierra Jungers, Macy Sievers and Mary Walker.

Newell-Fonda’s Courtney Darrow and Williamsburg’s Adam C. Berte were named coach of the year for their respective districts. Darrow is a graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High and Berte of Twin River Valley.

Adams, who will head to the University of Iowa in the fall, set several records for the Dodgers, who reached three consecutive 5A title games with a championship last year. This past season, she was 23-4 with 220 strikeouts, allowing just 15 earned run in 157 innings.

Opponents hit just .121 off Adams, who also had a 0.54 WHIP, which ranked third in the state. At the plate, she hit .488 with 30 RBI, seven homers, 11 doubles and 27 walks.

Bennett, who will join Adams at Iowa, hit .481 with 41 RBI, five homers, 13 doubles, 49 runs, 22 steals and a .973 fielding percentage.

Myers, just a freshman, batted 4.76 with an .833 slugging percentage, nine homers, 18 doubles, 37 RBI and 19 walks. She committed just one error and had a .997 fielding percentage.

Harvey, a senior, hit .375 with 18 RBI, six triples, 10 doubles, two homers and 33 runs scored for the Gaels, who won a share of the North Central Conference title. She also had 33 stolen bases and drew 15 walks.

Henning, a sophomore, was 16-2 inside the circle, striking out 200 batters in 152 innings with a .219 batting average against and a 1.70 earned run average. She also hit .310 with 22 RBI and eight doubles.

Bargfrede, who recently completed her 10th-grade year, won 19 games inside the circle, striking out 247 batters while Stoakes hit .432 with 10 doubles and seven homers.

Rowley, a sophomore, put together a .506 batting average with 34 RBI, 14 doubles, five triples and 34 runs scored. She also stole 15 bases and had a .987 fielding percentage. Etherington, a junior, hit.337 with 24 RBI, nine doubles and had a .986 fielding percentage.

Meyer led the state in RBI with 60 and wins with 33, while finishing second with 318 strikeouts. Nielsen was second in the state with 63 singles and tied for fourth in runs with 62.

Along with Beadle, they helped lead North Union to the state softball tournament and a program-best fourth place finish.

Newell-Fonda won the Twin Lakes Conference and qualified for the state tournament, while Capesius was tied for the state lead with a .667 batting average.
