Tyler Rossmanith has spent the last four seasons working alongside his senior classmates to help rebuild the St. Edmond football program.

Through long practices, tough weeks and difficult losses, the Gaels were able to send Rossmanith out with a win in the season finale.

And Rossmanith played a big part in it all.

The running back ran for 204 yards on 26 carries, scored four touchdowns, recorded a sack on defense and added a two-point conversion in the win over Siouxland Christian to give St. Edmond a third victory on the season.

“It really was a great night to go out on,” Rossmanith said. “Everyone played well and I’m really proud to say I’ve been a part of this team.

“My time as a St. Edmond football player has been some of the best memories of my life. I am so proud of this team and what we’ve accomplished.”

Rossmanith led the Gaels in rushing with 657 yards and six touchdowns, and was also one of the leading tacklers on defense with 49.5 stops as they made the transition to eight-player football.

As a junior, he also led the team in rushing with 572 yards and six scores while recording 58.5 tackles. Rossmanith also had 45 tackles as a sophomore and 10 as a freshman.

St. Edmond’s senior class came into high school the same year as head coach Matt Dillon. They won 13 games during that time.

“My favorite part of football has been the bonds I’ve made with my teammates,” Rossmanith said.

Rossmanith finished his career with 262 carries for 1,265 yards and 12 touchdowns, adding 12 receptions for 118 yards and a TD. He made 163 tackles on defense.

Along with football, Rossmanith is also part of the St. Edmond wrestling and golf teams. The Gaels reached the state golf tournament this past spring.

Rossmanith plans on majoring in biology but is undecided on which college he will attend.
