Lynx 2nd, Humboldt 3rd at NCC

Orr stands out again; Gael Baker takes 200

HAMPTON — The Clear Lake boys track and field team claimed their first North Central Conference title since 1984 here Thursday night.

Webster City finished as the runner-up with Humboldt placing third.

For the Wildcats, Quinton Orr was a triple winner, sweeping the 3200, 1600 and 800. Eric Wittrock finished second to Orr in both the 3200 and 800, with the two helping Humboldt win the 4×400 relay alongside Cale Hundertmark and Carson Berte.

The 4×800 for the Wildcats was second.

Kase Baker won the 200-meter dash in 22.53 for St. Edmond with the sprint medley of Parker Oswald, Anthony Lacina, Baker and Sean Flattery adding silver.

The 4×800, distance medley, 4×100 and 4×400 relays were all third. Grant Heldorfer, Drew Szalat, Hayden Mayer and Aaron Lursen ran the 4×800, Oswald, Lacina, Cael Kolacia and Heldorfer the distance medley, Heldorfer, Oswald, Flattery and Baker the 4×100 and Heldorfer, Baker, Oswald and Flattery the 4×400.

Lursen won the 400 in junior varsity action as St. Edmond also had first place finishes in the 4×400 (Cayne Reed, Lursen, Zach Smith, Hayden Mayer), the distance medley (Grant Webster, Smith, Blaine Brennan-Rowe, Zach Loerts) and the sprint medley relay (John Nemmers, Smith, Webster, Reed).

Webster City’s JJ Moore won the discus and shot put, CJ Hisler the 100, Kaiyu Levongkhom the 110 hurdles and the Lynx 4×200 relay were also first place finishers.
