The Iowa Central men’s and women’s soccer teams ran into a tough Iowa Western program here Wednesday at Rogers Sports Complex.

Playing a third consecutive ranked opponent, the Triton men dropped a 5-0 decision to the No. 2 Reivers.

Iowa Western scored three goals in the opening half to gain command of the contest. They have won all six games to begin the season, including four shutouts.

Following a 4-2 setback at Hawkeye, Iowa Central downed North Iowa Area in Mason City, 1-0, on a game-winner from Christian Koffi. They also bounced back from a loss to Southeastern by besting ranked Iowa Lakes in overtime, 2-1, before a defeat at Marshalltown, 3-2.

The Iowa Central women had their three-match win streak snapped, falling to the fifth-ranked Reivers, 6-0. Iowa Western has yet to allow a goal in five matches this season.

After opening the season with a 15-0 victory over Scott, the Tritons were tripped up at Hawkeye, 3-2. They responded, scoring wins over North Iowa Area, Southeastern and Iowa Lakes by a combined score of 12-3.

Next action for the Tritons will be this Saturday when they host Indian Hills back here. The men’s contest begins things at 1 p.m. with the women to start at 3 p.m.
