Gaels crown three champs in Jewell

JEWELL — The St. Edmond boys track team had a strong showing here Thursday night at the South Hamilton Invitational.

The Gaels finished third overall, crowning three meet champions. Roland-Story was first and North Polk second.

Quinten McCarville captured the high jump in 5-10 and Kase Baker the 200-meter dash in 22.63. The shuttle hurdle relay of Isaac Landwehr, Thomas Cosgrove, Drew Szalat and Braydon Smith were first in 1:09.47.

Sean Flattery (400) and Aaron Lursen (800) each picked up first place finishes along with the sprint medley of Cael Kolacia, Parker Oswald, Baker and Flattery.

Landwehr (400 hurdles), Hayden Mayer (mile), the 4×200 relay and 4×400 relay were also third. Oswald, Kolacia, Lacina and Baker comprised the 4×200 with Cayne Reed, Kolacia, Oswald and Flattery the 4×400.

Lursen had a personal record in the 3200 for the Gaels.

St. Edmond returns to action Manson on Tuesday.
