Another win for Tritons

The Iowa Central women’s soccer team improved to 3-1 on the year, posting a convincing 5-2 victory over Southeastern here Tuesday at Rogers Sports Complex.

The Tritons (3-1 overall, 3-1 in ICCAC) have now scored 26 goals through four matches and have won two in a row.

Abigail Dalebout got Iowa Central on the board in the first half, scoring off an assist from Elicia Mulvaney.

The Tritons found their way to four second-half goals from four different players. Julia Herbst hit on the first one, followed by Anna Pons from an assist by Herbst.

“We have a lot of good, attacking players,” Iowa Central head coach Jared Beauchamp said. “We just need to do a better job of finishing those chances instead of letting a few of them slide by.”

Mulvaney found the back of the net next off an assist by Pons with Addison Boyle recording the fifth and final goal off an assist by Mulvaney.

“It was good to see us turn right back around after letting in a couple of goals and stretch the lead back out,” Beauchamp said. “Jessie (Kurufher) is coming along nicely in goal. Every day is a learning experience for her and she’s continuing to get better.”

The Tritons return to action Thursday in Estherville vs. Iowa Lakes.
